Founded in 1550, Riess is an Austrian family business that has been producing cookware for nine generations. It started to focus on the manufacture of top quality enamelware since 1922, developing an array of colorful products in its carbon-neutral facility using locally generated hydro power along the Ybbs river.
Riess uses a 40-step handmade process to craft each enameled item. Iron wares are pressed, stamped, then dipped in porcelain enamel, dried and fired at 850°C to be glass-fused. The result is long lasting, rust-free, heat resistant up to 450°C, non-reactive, anti-bacterial, cut and scratch resistant.
