Injiri means "real India". For Chinar Farooqui, the founder and designer of Injiri, this name stands for her love for India’s textile traditions. Debuting in spring 2016, the brand's new collection "Ahir" is named after the Ahir caste, who are believed to be the descendants of Lord Krishna. The elaborate costumes of Ahir women are embellished with rich colors, vibrant stripes, and exquisite embroidery, which are the very elements that make this collection stand out.
