In the historical town of Lishui, the green valley in Zhejiang Province, Southeast China,
generations of artisans used bamboo to craft all kinds of items in people's everyday life.
As the country went through rapid industrialization, plastic products flooded local markets,
leaving traditional bamboo weaving skills endangered.
We curated a few baskets entirely handmade by seasoned bamboo weavers that are still practicing this craft,
each item required 3 to 8 working days to complete,
showcasing the most exquisite craftsmanship of Chinese bamboo weaving.
